In the male-dominated society of the Victorian era, the female pioneer Bennett posts a job advertisement for maids as her café becomes too busy to manage alone. However, the only applicant is a mere 13-year-old girl named Shirley. Captivated by the girl's innocent demeanor and clear eyes, which seem detached from the world, Bennett decides to hire Shirley, and thus begins their cozy cohabitation as mistress and young maid.
