In a world where about 10% of deceased humans return as visible and communicable entities known as ghosts, high school students Yuki, a liar, and his childhood friend, the ghost Maharu, find themselves in the midst of the school festival season. After an accident involving Maharu, Yuki is asked by his senior, Iroha, who aspires to be a "justice detective," to help with the theater club. Together with Maharu, Yuki decides to participate in the play. As they begin rehearsals with unusual classmates like class representative Ichinose, Shiki, his younger sister Kuon, and Iris, another incident occurs... Who is the culprit? What is the motive behind the incident? And what exactly are the "ghosts" that have suddenly started appearing? This is a love comedy filled with lies and a mystery unfolding in the "Haunted World!"
