Koyuki and Konatsu have become the only two members of the Nanahama High School Aquarium Club. Koyuki is an honor student, admired from afar, while Konatsu is a transfer student from the city, each carrying their own distinct loneliness and gradually drawing closer to one another. One day, as they head out together to the town's summer festival, Konatsu asks Koyuki a question that has been on her mind for some time: "Why did you talk to me the first time we met?"
